Tester la Pré-Compensation Doppler et de Délai dans les Terminaux Commerciaux

Technical analysis and engineering reference.

1. The Death of Terrestrial Closed-Loop Timing

In terrestrial 5G networks, the base station continuously monitors an approaching device, sending closed-loop Timing Advance (TA) commands to advance or retard the device's transmit clock so uplink packets arrive aligned within the OFDM symbol cyclic prefix. In Low Earth Orbit, where round-trip latency exceeds 20 milliseconds and changes at 40 microseconds per second, closed-loop control is far too sluggish.

2. Autonomous User Equipment (UE) Pre-Compensation

3GPP Release 17 shifted the responsibility of synchronization entirely onto the handset: - The handset acquires its current latitude, longitude, and elevation from internal GNSS receivers. - It parses satellite orbital ephemerides broadcast in System Information Block 19 (SIB19). - The baseband computes the precise Euclidean distance and line-of-sight velocity vector to the spacecraft, pre-shifting its own transmit frequency and advancing its transmission timing before transmitting the very first PRACH preamble.

3. Testbench Verification Criteria

NTNReady verifies that the residual timing error arriving at the emulated satellite payload remains strictly under 10 nanoseconds, guaranteeing orthogonal reception without inter-carrier interference.
